042808 - Now for the Paint!

With all of those reference photos of such GORgeous flowers...how could I resist painting at least one?  I had one last spread in my little Maruman watercolor sketchbook, and those poppies were calling my name.

  7. This poppy is regal comapared to our bright yellow-orange California poppies. What a lovely colour and the application of the paint is beautiful. I can't wait to begin playing with my gouache again....you do such beautiful work with it!

  8. Oh, Diahn, what fun to see your beautiful poppy! I just did a sketch of a bouquet of them from our local farmers' market---I love seeing our different takes on the same subject. Belated Happy Mother's Day, too!
