It's giveaway time! Happy Friday, everyone!
I'm giving away this original gouache and ink painting to one of my dear readers as a lead-up to opening my new etsy shop on July 31. It is 5x7 on pastel paper - ready to be matted and framed and hung in your favorite corner.
This is a different view of our friend, the bluebird. I was so distressed to hear, yesterday, that some of you haven't seen a bluebird, I figured it must be the right thing to give away.
So here's all YOU have to do!
Leave me a comment, in this post, any time between today (July 17, 2009) and Sunday, July 19, 2009, at midnight and I'll enter your name into the drawing one time. Easy!
But wait...there's more! Write a little something about my giveaway on your own blog or Twitter feed, link back to this post, and email me to tell me about it at diahnott at gmail dot com...one more chance to win!
I'll stir all the entries up in a random number generator and have it spout out a winner on Monday morning!
Don't forget to make sure that your name is included in your post! I had one anonymous entry with no contact or name last week, and so I couldn't add that one to the drawing.
Have a great weekend, everyone - and good luck!
Love the detail on your bluebird WC-effective background. I can see him perched in my art room already!
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in the drawing. I love your work!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was the "anonymous" commentator last week!
Hi Melissa - thank you!
ReplyDeleteAnd hi Pat! I'm glad you were the anonymous commentator, because I saw your link and you got entered anyway! (But just one time instead of two...)
All your birds drawings are awesome! I love them beady eyes, and the details of the feathers and feet, they are just terrific! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more with different variants
Thanks so much, Alex! I'm rather fond of those beady little eyes, too...
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky here in North Carolina to have an abundance of blue birds but I have a hard time taking their picture as I don't have a zoom lens. I would love to win your beautiful blue bird! Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteLovely painting! I'm enjoying your work on the colored paper ... and the stamping behind is just wonderful. Thanks for the chance to win this sweet little bird!
ReplyDeleteI love Blue birds and your painting is fantastic. We have Scrub Jays here and they are fun to watch. Not as fun as watching the Quail tease our bird dog, but still cool to look at. Good luck on everything and have a great and creative day! ;-)Rhonda
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely. I can't wait to see the goodies in your shop.
ReplyDeleteYou rock! Here's my entry!
ReplyDelete(waving arm in the air and jumping up and down)...
ReplyDeleteme, too! me, too!
:-D
Very nice! The contrast caught my attention!
ReplyDeleteWell, count me in! I am so enjoying this series, and of course, the bluebird is a favorite. We have had them nest in our bluebird box in the past, but not so in recent years. I'm looking forward to seeing your Etsy shop too!
ReplyDeleteNot expecting to be in the running to win but had to come by and say that this is a little charmer.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting, Diahn! I never see bluebirds up here in Trumbull, Connecticut, just the bullying blue jays ---
ReplyDeleteLovely! I will consider this painting as a Bluebird of Happiness! :)
ReplyDeleteI would so love to give this sweet birdie a good home!
ReplyDeleteReally truly beautiful! And no... sadly, no bluebirds here.
It's all good, but I love them little feetsies the best!!
ReplyDeleteEven though I do see bluebirds almost everyday in the spring in summer here, this little guy would be a sweet reminder during the dull, winter months! :) Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, another fabulous drawing giveaway! Hope I win, hope I win. Good luck everyone! (fingers crossed)
ReplyDeletePlease don't leave me out of your fabulously generous giveaway! I'll put a link on my sidebar for you.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks everyone, so far...I've got all your names in the pot...
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on your blog the other day. I love your birds & I have a good home for this one! Throw me in the pot!
ReplyDeleteThe background complements the chirpiness of the bird so well.
ReplyDeleteBluebirds are my favorite. Unfortunately, we have about 2 per year --- then they are gone. We get so excited when they move into one of my houses and watch them until they leave.
ReplyDeleteLove your work and page layout!!
Fabulous! I would be pleased to enter again. bettyfromtexas
ReplyDeleteFirst time here...and I'm glad I followed the EDM link! Your birds are beautiful and I love the compostions! Just wonderful! I'd be happy to display one of these.
ReplyDeleteLovely colors and composition!

A bluebird of happiness. Yep, put me in the pot. I live in a tree house. Quite fitting for a bluebird.
ReplyDeleteAnd how could you not tweet a bluebird give away???
Thank you, diahn.
Oh to be in the flight path of this little sweetie! I love them all Ms. Gouache Goodness!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little beauty! All your bird paintings are lovely and more than just representational, they are art!

ReplyDeletethis is a wonderful painting :)
Diahn, LOVE your style! These gouache and ink pieces are just great. (and I'd say that even if you weren't having this contest.)
ReplyDeleteIf you love bluebirds, have you seen a mountain bluebird? You'd freak. The entire bird is blue, from a fresh light blue on the breast to pure cerulean blue on the back. Gorgeous.
Good luck with your Etsy site!
OK - I'm crossing my fingers this time!!!
ReplyDeletelove the bluebird painting.
ReplyDeletenot sure if I'm in time for the giveaway. I'm just reading my EDM email with your link in it.

I'm another person who hasn't seen a bluebird. They don't come to the island - or not that I know of.
ReplyDeleteThis drawing is lovely, very illustrational, it would fit well in a book.
Beautiful work.
And the birdie goes to...
ReplyDeletesteviewren!
Congratulations!
Check back Friday for one more giveaway before the etsy shop opens, and thanks to everyone who entered!
Well, I'm too late, but I'm glad I got to see it anyway! LOL We do love our bluebirds here--we have a house, and so far this year, two clutches of babies have taken flight. You did a beautiful job on capturing their lovely character.
ReplyDeleteI like this bluebird! I like the way you work in the stamped images in your ground. I found your blog through Casey; cool!
ReplyDeleteThis painting is gorgeous! Please enter me in the drawing. I'm a new reader and just signed up to follow your blog. You have a great style. And just so you know I found you through Casey Toussaint's blog.
ReplyDeleteI love bluebirds but haven't seen one in years here in the city. Winning your painting would be the next best thing!
ReplyDeleteAm I too late? I love birds. Favourite creatures of mine. Birds is me. I am bird. Birds birds birds! Really like your bird artwork, Diahn. Thanks much for the beauty.
