Meh. And Really? So What!
So, I added color, and I'm just not really thrilled with it, but I like the IDEA of it. I've got 5 or 4 other birdy stack up ideas, so while I'm not happy with this one, I am happy with the fact that I have IDEAS and a DESIRE to DRAW something.
I'm also happy because I've made PLANS to TRAVEL and I'm working on some other plans to TRAVEL somewhere ELSE but I can't talk about that one yet, because I don't really have any details or dates or particulars, just a want-to and a lets-see.
Sigh.
I love rainy days, when I have time to sit around and dream...

Love the art work, but I say that alot, don't I? I've been away for awhile, and this is the first I've seen your new look blog. Very nice.
ReplyDeletethe colouring of the middle birds feathers and the top bird is nice, especially how you haven't coloured all of he feathers on the middle bird. :)
ReplyDeletehave fun where ever it is you are travelling too :)
i relate to this post. it makes me happy to at least have ideas and a desire to create. that's what i did with my scannography you saw. I wasn't happy with it but i liked the idea of it. AND plans to travel... that's fantastic and that where i want to be. i have the desire to travel but haven't made my plans. i must do that and soon.
ReplyDeleteby the way i DO like your drawing.I especially love the way you handled the crow. nice work
-->I like how the bottom bird looks like the Mom and tolerates getting stood on plus the way you crossed the patterns on the middle bird's head. I like it! Wish I could draw more than stick figures. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone - I appreciate your input! I wish I hadn't put the top birdy in - he just doesn't go with the rest of the composition - looks a bit cartoony to me...
ReplyDeleteI may try it again without that top bird and see if it makes me happier...
well, i do love the details and the way it stacks up. i really love the top guy - i love those little british robins and wish i had a whole flock of them in my yard.
ReplyDeletei like the stacking. and the details.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the red on the underside of middle birdy's chin. Nicely done, my friend.
ReplyDeleteAND I wanna hear more about travel plans!!!! Anyplace exciting???
I really like this idea of the stacked birds and the way you have them here. I do like the top bird and his attitude compared to the other two. And of course your drawing is fantastic as is your use of color. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, Diahn! I saw your blog on Helen's blogroll and I am so glad I did! Beautiful work!
