I took some photos of Ben around the house yesterday and as he was trying to sleep on the couch in my studio. He'd had about enough and was shielding his eyes from the flash, so I put the camera down and decided to draw him instead.
I've never used gouache before, as is quite evident in the painting - but I'll learn. (Thanks, Linda!)

Oh fun -- we both did cats and we both used gouache! A non-coincidence if ever there was one. I think you did great with gouache, too -- Sleeping Ben is just perfect. Why,look at his pink paws! (Makes you just want to hug him.)

Ben look perfectly happy being painted...he even posed delightfully for you with that cute little paw over they eyes....that's not hiding from the flash, it's a pose! Great work with the gouache
