Our school held their annual Art Fair today - and the artwork was amazing -these kids can really create! My Derek won 1st place in his Kindergarten class with his lovely springtime collage! Yeah!! He was pretty stoked about it!
Joshua faced some really tough competition in the K4 arena, and finshed 5th, but he was the highest placing boy in K4, he had a great time and made a beautiful collage, himself.
It has been 16 days since my last post! What a drought! I hope to be back on my game soon - but until then, here's something to fill some space. My latest batch of postcards - to go out today, I hope.
A bird of paradise in acrylic ink.
A lion in coffee and water soluble crayon (yes, I said coffee...)
Had to show these off - what a treat to see the ways different artists treat the same subject. In the lion image, the first and last images are the reference photo I took at the Knoxville Zoo, and in the Joshua image, the first and second to last are my original ref.
The Weekly Drawing Event that I'm hosting over at Wet Canvas is in full swing - there've been more than 30 participants so far, but there's still plenty of room!!
Come by and check it out at the All Media Art Event channel on Wet Canvas. At least take a look at the photos and artwork - you won't believe what these folks can do!
It'll make you want to join in, I promise!
